It is a Tuesday morning in September when Martha Cambero flips up her Face Shield and shouts into the camera of her cell phone in a lively voice that she still can't believe it all.

Cambero stands on a sidewalk in the center of the Venezuelan capital Caracas.

Behind her you can see the facade of a military prison.

It has been 50 days since President Nicolás Maduro's security forces suddenly stood in her apartment and arrested her husband.

Just as surprising was the announcement that he would now be released again.

"I don't believe in it until Nicmer comes out the door," says Cambero as she waits outside the building for something to happen.

Cambero and Nicmer Evans have been running the anti-government news portal "Punto de Corte" for three years.

Martha believes his arrest had something to do with it.

The words "incitement to hatred" were on the warrant for his arrest.

At Nicmer's hearing, the prosecutor whispered something about a tweet in which Nicmer had expressed his wish that a television presenter suffering from Covid-19 survive the virus so that an earthly court could judge him.
