The political adviser to the President of Azerbaijan, Hikmat Hajib, said today (Wednesday) in an interview with Walla!
NEWS that the Azeri army is using aggressive drones made in Israel, including "suicide" drones, in the battles it has been waging in recent days against the Armenian army in the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute.
"If Armenians are afraid of these UAVs them to end the occupation," read Hag'iib.
The interview was conducted in the background fighting started between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh. Exchange of fire in recent days have killed dozens of soldiers from both sides. The UN Security Council convened Yesterday for an urgent discussion and called on the parties to reach a ceasefire.
Israel is deliberately refraining from publicly commenting on the escalation between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Lior Hayat declined to comment.

Israel and Azerbaijan have strategic security cooperation.
It is estimated that Israel supplies more than 60% of the Azeri army's weapons.
Israel, on the other hand, purchases a large part of its oil supply from Azerbaijan.
In December 2016, during a visit by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Baku, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said his country had signed long-term contracts with Israel for the purchase of $ 5 billion worth of weapons.
"We very much appreciate the cooperation with Israel - especially the security cooperation," Hajib said.
"The goal is to strengthen Azerbaijan's defense capabilities. We are in a state of defense and this (Israeli) technology enables Azerbaijan to protect the security of its citizens."

Armenia has repeatedly protested to Israel about the supply of weapons to Azerbaijan - especially when it comes to selling "suicide" UAVs of the "Harup" model.
"We use Israeli UAVs to gather intelligence and attack.
Including "Harup" Kamikaze UAVs, "he noted.
The "Harup" UAVs are very efficient and deserve the attention of the Israeli engineers who designed them.
"If the Armenians are so afraid of the UAVs used by Azerbaijan, they must stop the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh."
Air train to Israel
In the past week, an "air train" of transport aircraft identified with the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense took off for Israel.
According to visible aircraft tracking applications, the Azeri transport planes landed at the Ovda airport in the south of the country and took off back to Azerbaijan after a few hours.
Also during the interview, a large Azeri Ilyushin 76 transport plane landed in fact.
It is estimated that the planes transport arms shipments from Israel to Azerbaijan.
"I do not know the exact details (about what is in the planes) but it is no secret that we have security cooperation," Hajib said when asked about the cargo plane of the Azeri Ministry of Defense that made its way to Israel.
"But I do not think this flight is necessarily related to the current battles. We also have trade relations and there is a lot of cargo moving from side to side like fruits and vegetables. These are not necessarily flights with military equipment."
When asked by Azerbaijan's political adviser again why the planes are landing at a military and non-civilian airport, he replied: "Okay, maybe. There may also be military equipment on these planes. It's part of a long-term cooperation with Israel. I do not think flights are related Directly to the current situation. "
The international community does not recognize the Armenian occupation and sees Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan
The Nagorno-Karabakh region makes up 20% of Azerbaijan's territory, but most of its population is Armenian.
In 1991, after the break-up of the Soviet Union, the Armenians declared independence, leading to the outbreak of a war that ended in 1994 in which tens of thousands of people on both sides were killed.
The Armenians won the war and conquered the entire region.
Despite this, the international community does not recognize the Armenian occupation and sees Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan.
A series of rounds of negotiations mediated by Russia, the United States and France have failed to bring about a peace agreement and once every few years the battles between Armenia and Azerbaijan resume in Nagorno-Karabakh.
During the interview, Hajayev mentioned that one of Azerbaijan's national heroes was Albert Agaronov, a Jewish tank commander who during the war with Armenia in Nagorno-Karabakh in the early 1990s destroyed 11 Armenian tanks.
"His family lives in Israel today and he is one of the symbols of cooperation between the countries," Hajib said.
"We expect to receive public support from our Israeli friends, but we also understand the situation."
