The Observatory stated that the shower in Hong Kong this (30th) afternoon brought about 10 millimetres of rainfall to many areas in Hong Kong.
Tonight’s "Walking Moon" is generally cloudy with occasional showers. In some areas, there will be heavy rains and thunderstorms. It is predicted that there will be fewer showers during the Mid-Autumn Festival tomorrow.
The Observatory issued an amber rainstorm warning signal at 7:15 pm.
According to the Observatory, heavy rain with an hourly rainfall exceeding 30 mm has been recorded or expected in a wide area of Hong Kong, and the rain may continue.
Some low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage will experience flooding.
The Observatory reminded citizens who may be affected by heavy rain and flooding should take appropriate precautions to prevent possible losses.

The Observatory said that this afternoon's showers in Hong Kong brought about 10 millimetres of rainfall to many areas, and Yuen Long recorded more than 20 millimetres of rainfall. The thunderstorm belt affecting Guangdong is moving southward and closer to the coast. The easterly air currents in this area are gradually increasing.
The Observatory predicts that the "first moon" in Hong Kong tonight will be generally cloudy with occasional showers, heavy rains and thunderstorms in some areas.
It is predicted that there will be less showers in the daytime tomorrow and the temperature will range from 25 to 28 degrees.
The easterly wind was gentle and the wind gradually strengthened.
Looking ahead, there will be sunshine on the day following the Mid-Autumn Festival and part of the weekend, and the weather will be slightly cooler early next week.
