The man suspected of having killed his former companion with knives on Saturday in Wissembourg (Bas-Rhin), arrested Monday in Alès (Gard), confessed his crime and was indicted for murder, learned the AFP Wednesday September 30 with the prosecution.

The 50-year-old man was imprisoned.

If the person recognizes having put an end to the days of the victim, he claims to have acted on impulse,
" said the prosecution.
The suspect and the victim had been in a relationship for a few months.
The 58-year-old victim had ended it over the summer and had since met another man.
The fifty-year-old, a nursing assistant in an nursing home, was stabbed at least three times in her home on Saturday morning.
This case brings to at least 51 the number of suspected feminicides since the beginning of the year, according to an AFP count.
In 2019, 146 women were killed by their spouse or ex-partner, 25 more than the previous year, according to the latest official figures.
