Liniers and Chanti made characters that comfort Mafalda. UNESCO, politicians and writers also greet her.

Impossible not to say something about the death of Quino.

How many is closely related to the departure of the man who created Mafalda?

Many creators said theirs, in dialogue with

Clarín

or on the networks.

Claudia Piñeiro, writer

I grew up with Mafalda And since my dad was, like the title of my book,

A Communist in Underpants

, my family encouraged those readings.

But beyond that, which must be common to many families, I remember that when we went to the Paris show in 2014, the Argentine figure at the fair was

Quino

.

I was surprised by the number of small children who came with books and

Mafalda

dolls

and came to have an autograph signed for them.

Only then did I take a real dimension of how the value of Mafalda was transmitted to the boys, even in other countries, as in this case it was France.

Daniel Divinsky, editor

He was my friend?

It was nothing else, it was part of my life.

Chanti.

The farewell of "the new Quino" to the great artist.

Rosa Montero, writer

"We have lost a father"

Sendra, cartoonist

When a big one goes away, allegories appear as omens.

If it rains, the day is sad;

if there is sun, that its light illuminates us from the sky.

The truth is that

Quino

, teacher, critic and thinker left and left us his work.

A work of a Greek solidity like marble and a universal rationality like the Greeks.

And there are his excellent drawings, always submissive to his ideas, without trying to show off his wonderful line, but seeking to convey as faithfully as possible that message of peace, good judgment, moral honesty, coherence, integrity.

Quino

was the flag of all Argentines, who recognized our mistakes and defects in his criticisms.

His cloak covered us all regardless of ideologies, without the pettiness of partisanship, because his work is recognized by all of us as our own, without distinction of sectors, ages, or personal conditions.

His works were not casual examples, but were supported by his simple, normal style, without fanfare.

Perfection was not his goal but his style, with a fine balance between the message and its realization, always with an idea-force that sustained them.

But now is another time, it is the time of social networks, of emptiness waving over depth, of the immediate over the enduring, of the Now over the Always.

… And once again you chose the Always.

Leandro Erlich, artist

A great artist .

I was always a big fan of

Quino's

work

.

A contemporary philosopher, accurate and endearing critic of our society.

Capable of transcending time, countries and generations.

He's still alive and young like the

Mafalda

boys

.

Isol, writer and cartoonist

He was a great, a contemporary thinker.

He thought in images and was popular at the same time: he did not underestimate his audience and translated his thought into action, and managed to move both young and old alike.

He was also an immense draftsman, who found the right way to illustrate an idea without making it obvious or pamphlet.

And he came to have a closeness to even the most miserable aspects of the human from a compassionate, even tender look.

Thus, the reader can recognize those parts without hiding or denying them, in order to act.

It goes away but it remains in us forever.

Personally, his gaze and his criteria are very present in my work.

Farewell to one of the brightest minds (and hearts) in our country.

Thanks for everything, Master!
