Moosburg wants to drive the energy transition, also with the help of photovoltaics.

But building plants is anything but easy, as two debates show.

Moosburg

- The Moosburg city council dealt twice with planned photovoltaic systems (PV) on Monday.

Initially it was about an application from the company One Solar from Eching (Landshut district), which wants to build the "Solar Park Moosburg" on a 6820 square meter field between the western bypass, railway line and Reiteraustraße.

On behalf of the landowner, an application was made to draw up a development plan.

But Mayor Josef Dollinger (FW) immediately made it clear that he and the administration were against the project.

Firstly, it spoils the entrance to the town, secondly, the area may be needed for further urban development, and thirdly, valuable arable land is blocked by the complex.

He suggested that PV collectors should be built on the roofs of urban properties.

3. Mayor Michael Stanglmaier argued differently: Although he had also voted against ground-mounted PV systems in the past, "but in this case I would agree," said the Green City Council.

Climate change makes it necessary and so far nothing has moved in terms of photovoltaics on communal roofs or parking lots in Moosburg.

Most recently, the city had prevented almost all possibilities, leaving only open spaces.

Stanglmaier appealed to take the energy transition resolution passed in 2007 seriously.

After some back and forth, the council followed with a large majority the proposal by Jörg Kästl (ÖDP) to postpone the matter and examine further areas.

Photovoltaic project in the old town criticized by monument conservationists

Afterwards it was once again about the house of the Wimmer family, which is located on Thalbacher Straße below Johanniskirche and Kastulusmünster.

The city and the council had already given the green light for a PV system planned on the roof, but the approval authorities and the monument protection are blocking the project.

They fear negative visual effects on the church ensemble.

The family had therefore turned to the petitions committee of the state parliament, the procedure is still open.

Now the city council should decide on a proposal from the preservationists: They suggest that the city clarify in a pilot study how to deal with such cases.

“But that's not the job of the city,” said Josef Dollinger.

The monument protection authority should put on the hat.

The group saw it differently: A study was approved with 14: 7 votes.
