A rapprochement of elected ex-LR with the Marseille left could allow the mayor, Michèle Rubirola, to increase his legitimacy.

The Marseille right is once again weakened.

According to information revealed by the local news site Marsactu on Wednesday, Christian Bosq and Sami Benfers - respectively municipal councilors The Republicans in the 13th and 14th arrondissements - have decided to leave their group.

A new setback for the right, a few months after the municipal defeat of the LR list led by Martine Vassal.

Their first mandate barely started, the two elected now ex-LR justify their choice.

Christian Bosq, whose commitment was to block the road to the National Rally, regrets not having obtained the post of deputy to sport he coveted in town hall.

"

I would have liked to be listened to a little but no one ever wanted to hear me,

" he regretted to the Marseille news site.

Sami Benfers describes himself as a “

man of the left

” who joined Martine Vassal “

because she decided to open her lists widely

”.

She has always been fair with me

, he said,

but this is not the case with the eminences around her.

Ironically, the two defectors could well support the Marseille left.

According to Marsactu, the two elected ex-LR are discussing with the majority group, the Marseille Spring.

I am not in the majority but I am open to discussion.

I will sit as a non-member, I will vote on the reports that suit me

, ”Christian Bosq confided.

The elected official has already specified that he would probably vote for the budget proposed by the majority and expected before mid-April.

These departures are closely monitored by the majority group of the mayor (EELV), Michèle Rubirola.

Elected during the municipal council of July 4 with a very narrow majority - 51 votes out of 100 - the Marseille councilor could take advantage of new arrivals to strengthen his legitimacy.

But nothing is done yet.

For now, Christian Bosq and Sami Benfers intend to represent a new movement called "citizen ambition" that they hope to see radiate beyond the city council.
