New Caledonia: LREM boss calls for vote "no" in referendum

Stanislas Guerini, delegate general of LREM on Thursday, October 1, called on Caledonians to vote “no” in the referendum on independence which will take place on Sunday in this French territory in the South Pacific.

As the United Nations recognizes, a complete and legitimate decolonization process can result in the choice to remain in the Republic, ”

While the Head of State Emmanuel Macron is held to impartiality in this election, the leader of the presidential party chose him:

“ France would be less beautiful without New- Caledonia ”

"the Caledonians to create the conditions for a new dialogue"

, if there were to be a third consultation.

The Nouméa agreement (1998) indeed provides for the possibility of a third and final referendum, if the “no” wins on Sunday.

For the boss of La République en Marche,

"it is imperative to exchange, listen, dialogue"

“This also supposes that the national political leaders express themselves again on New Caledonia.
