The Roland-Garros third round match between Frenchman Hugo Gaston and Swiss Stan Wawrinka was interrupted by rain in the third set on Friday, when the two players were tied (2-2) after each winning a round.
At 14:47, the judge and the two opponents agreed after a few minutes of discussion to suspend the game. The Swiss won the first set 6-2, the French the second 6-3.
Gaston, 239th in the world and participating in his first Roland-Garros, opposes more than solid resistance to Switzerland, winner of three Grand-Slam tournaments, including the 2015 edition in Paris.
The match on Simonne-Mathieu court between Italy's Lorenzo Sonego and American Taylor Fritz was also interrupted.
