At 10 o'clock in the morning today (2nd), a family of four was cycling in the newly opened cycle track between Tuen Mun and Ma On Shan in the New Territories. The husband surnamed Yan was carrying a young daughter, and his son and wife each stepped on a bicycle.
When they fell in a pedestrian tunnel near Kam Pok Road on Fairview Park Avenue in Yuen Long, the wife suspected of hitting the road and out of control and ran into the rear of his son's bicycle.
The wife fell to the ground out of balance and suffered serious head injuries. She recovered after being sent to hospital for treatment.
His son was slightly injured in his hand, and it is known that neither of them was wearing a helmet.
The police are investigating the case.
According to statistics, the 11-kilometer cycling track connecting Yuen Long to Sheung Shui was opened for public use on September 29, which means that the 60-kilometer-long "Super Bicycle Track" connecting Tuen Mun to Ma On Shan has been completed. Calculated at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour for ordinary citizens, it will take about 6 hours to complete the cycle track version of the "Tuen Ma Line".
