Putin and Pashinyan discuss the issue of the presence of foreign militants in Nagorno Karabakh

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed by phone today with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan the situation in the Nagorno Karabakh region and the issue of the presence of foreign militants there.

Russia Today quoted the Kremlin as saying in a statement that “Putin and Pashinyan continued, in their third telephone conversation within six days, to discuss developments in the disputed region between Armenia and Azerbaijan.” Illegal armed groups from the Middle East in hostilities ”.

The statement indicated that Putin stressed again the need for an immediate cessation of fighting in the region and the resumption of political and diplomatic efforts aimed at settling the conflict. The two sides also agreed during the call to continue contacts in various forms.

The Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed yesterday that the transfer of armed men from Syria and Libya to the Nagorno Karabakh region poses a threat to the region, while the Armenian Ministry of Defense announced on the 27th of last month that it had irrefutable evidence of the Turkish regime’s interference in the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In the Nagorno Karabakh region, noting at the same time that it was investigating by sending mercenaries from the Erdogan regime from northern Syria to inflame the situation there.
