Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed by phone today with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan the situation in the Nagorno Karabakh region and the issue of the presence of foreign militants there.

Russia Today quoted the Kremlin as saying in a statement that “Putin and Pashinyan continued, in their third telephone conversation within six days, to discuss developments in the disputed region between Armenia and Azerbaijan.” Illegal armed groups from the Middle East in hostilities ”.

The statement indicated that Putin stressed again the need for an immediate cessation of fighting in the region and the resumption of political and diplomatic efforts aimed at settling the conflict. The two sides also agreed during the call to continue contacts in various forms.
