The North Carolina Senate race gets complicated: A few hours after Republican Sen. Tom Tillis announced he was infected with the Corona virus, his Democratic rival, Cal Cunningham, admitted yesterday (Friday) that he sent sexually explicit messages to a woman who is not his wife.

Cunningham, a member of the North Carolina Senate, has announced that he has no plans to retire from the race.

Cunningham will have to undergo a corona test himself, after sharing the stage with Tilis on Tuesday in a confrontation between the two.

He reached a confrontation after managing to raise $ 28.3 million in the third quarter of the year, which is a testament to how much the Democratic Party is behind it.

Cunningham led on Tillis in polls published before the publications about them.

Although the American public does not always forgive familiar figures, especially political ones, the Campaign for Democratic Senators said it continues to support Cunningham: "Recover from the crisis we are in. We are confident he will bring his courage and determination to the Senate as he did when he served in uniform (Cunningham was discharged from the U.S. Army with the rank of lieutenant colonel, AA)."

On the other hand, Jesse Hunt, a spokeswoman for the Republican Senate Campaign Committee, said these were serious allegations that Cunningham needed to make in full transparency with voters.

"We know there is more to this story, Cal knows that too, and he needs to update voters on that so they can decide if he is suitable or not for the job," Hunt said.

According to screenshots from the conversations Cunningham had with the woman published in the American media, the two talked about kissing and spending the night together.

"It would make me the day to kiss you now," Cunningham wrote to her.

In another message, the woman asked him when they would see each other: "I want to kiss you, I want to spend the night with you."

In response to the exposure, Cunningham said: "I have hurt my family, I have disappointed my friends and I am very sorry. The first step I will take to rectify the situation is to take full responsibility for the situation. I still thank and feel blessed for the support I received throughout the campaign. The opportunity to fight for the people of our country. "
