At 1:45 this afternoon (4th), at Tai Long Bay, Sai Kung, the police received a report from a boat owner that a man suspected of falling into the sea was rescued by the boat owner. The Flying Service helicopter arrived at the scene after receiving the report. The man was rushed to the Eastern District Hospital, but he died.
Initial investigation by the police believes that the 36-year-old victim Tan and his friend dived about 1 nautical mile off Big Wave Bay. During the dive, the male victim was drowned. His 44-year-old surname Huang later reported that he was unwell and was consciously sent to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment.
It is understood that the director of male affairs is an aircraft maintenanceman, is well versed in water, and holds an Advanced Open Water Diver License (AOW). At about 9 am this morning, his group of seven went to Big Wave Bay for diving. There was nothing unusual during this time. He was found drowning by the boatman in the afternoon.
