Arabic anthology is the title of the musical evening that was performed by the Qasid troupe, led by Maestro Kamal Skekker and singer Somer Najjar, hosted by the Drama Theater at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts.

The evening was distinguished by the presentation of various musical schools in the field of Arabic melody during the beautiful days of Syria, Lebanon and Egypt by great composers including Zaki Nassif, Sheikh Imam, Melhem Barakat, Farid Al Atrash, Omar Khairat, Azar Habib, Karem Mahmoud, Ziad Rahbani and the two brothers Rahbani.

As usual, the Qasid band relied on the musical distribution as a basis for its work in the musical evenings that it revives continuously because of the beauty and satisfaction of the melodic phrases and the program was distributed by the Maestro Skicker.

Among the songs that Najjar performed in his academic voice, our beloved ones around us, the sea, laughing at him, the fez, and the whaeshni.

It is noteworthy that Sumer Najjar was born in Aleppo, a graduate of the Arab Institutes of Music in Aleppo and al-Aali for the Department of Oriental Singing in general. Al-Wadi and Maghan in Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts

As for the Qasid band, it presents Arab singing works in general and Syrian in particular in a harmonious orchestral language while preserving its character and identity, as it was founded in 2008 from graduates and students of the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus and took Dar Al-Assad as a platform for it, seeking to document Arab singing and music and linking heritage and modernity.
