US President Donald Trump will be leaving the hospital later on Monday.

He wrote on Twitter that he would be leaving Walter Reed Hospital at 6:30 p.m. local time.

Great drugs and knowledge had been gained under the Trump administration.

He feels better than 20 years ago.

A doctor had raised the possibility of an early discharge on Sunday.

Trump could continue to receive treatment in the White House, which has a hospital wing.

"We are still optimistic that he can return to the White House later in the day," said Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to Fox News on Monday.

Trump has made "incredible progress," said Meadows with a view to the state of health of the president.

Previously, there had been contradicting information about Trump's health from his personal doctor, Sean P. Conley.

He had initially denied that the US President needed oxygen therapy.

It wasn't until Sunday that Conley confirmed that the president's oxygen levels had dropped on Friday morning.

Several US media had previously reported on it.

Trump was also supplied with oxygen, according to Conley.

However, the president was pretty sure not to need the therapy.

After supporters of the president had been gathering in front of the hospital for days, he paid them a visit on Sunday.

From a black SUV, Trump waved to his fans in Bethesda, north of Washington, on Sunday, as seen on a video on Twitter.

The incident caused massive criticism.
