White House spokeswoman tested positive for coronavirus
5.30 p.m.:
Just under four days after Trump, the White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany tested positive for the corona virus.
She will quarantine after her test result on Monday morning, it said in a message distributed by McEnany on Twitter.
So far, she has no symptoms, she continued.
The 32-year-old assured her that corona tests had always been negative so far - even since Thursday when Trump tested positive.
She also stated that the White House medical team does not have journalists as "close contacts".
However, journalists immediately emphasized that McEnany had spoken to the press on Sunday without wearing a protective mask.
Since the announcement of Trump's corona infection on Friday night, the number of positive cases in the president's environment has been growing.
Affected are three Republican Senators, Trump's campaign manager Bill Stepien, his campaign advisor Chris Christie, Trump's ex-advisor Kellyanne Conway and the leader of the Republican Party, Ronna McDaniel.
