Ms. Shen, a single mother, said that she lived with her two children in a sub-district with an area of about 180 square feet. The rent was as high as more than 6,000 yuan, which already accounted for half of her income.
She said that although she received "N no allowance", 70% was used to pay rent. Even with the children's daily expenses, there was little income left. She admitted that the rent was under great pressure.
