On the occasion of the forty-seventh anniversary of the October War of Liberation, the General Film Organization organized a cinematic celebration in which it showed two documentary films produced and directed by the late Wadih Youssef depicting the heroics of the Syrian Arab Army against the Zionist occupation forces.
The celebration, which was hosted by the lecture hall at the headquarters of the Damascus Workers Union, titled “October Completion of Amazing Victory,” during which the audience watched the movie “Tishreen Came,” which monitored the process of liberating the Jabal Al-Sheikh Observatory from the Zionist occupation and the high capabilities and competence of our brave soldiers in this battle.
The second documentary film titled “The Killers Show” included an interview with a Zionist pilot who bombed civilians in the city of Damascus during the October War, indicating the false allegations that the occupation spread among its forces with the aim of pushing them to commit crimes against women, children and unarmed civilians.
The celebration also featured a visual material prepared by Awad Al-Qadro that dealt with the most important stations in the national life and struggle of Syria from the seventies of the last century until today. Supervisor.
Director of Cinematography, Dr. Samir Jaber, who was present at the filming of the editorial film of the Jabal Al-Sheikh Observatory, reviewed the stages of this documentary work and how he showed the sacrifices of our brave soldiers to reach and liberate the observatory, stressing that during his ascent to Mount Sheikh in order to reach the observatory, he did not care about the dangers to which he was exposed As much as he wanted to document the army's heroics to recover this dear part of our homeland.
A number of the attendees expressed their happiness with this celebration, as Omar al-Boushi stated that it stirred feelings of pride in his victory, pointing to the aesthetic of the presentation that dealt with the war from beginning to end in a sequential order. It is achieved today at this stage through the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army.
