Grainau acted.

Has done something against the traffic and parking chaos, put up prohibition signs.

But: Apparently many people are not interested in them.

The local council is considering further measures.

Grainau

- Grainau and its traffic.

A topic that has been of particular concern to citizens this year.

The chaos on the Eibseeberg has meanwhile been defused a little, and the overall situation has at least calmed down a bit due to the less touristy autumn.

And yet: the pictures are far from being forgotten.

The crowd, the sheet metal avalanches, the mountains of rubbish at the Eibsee.

A discussion on the topic recently flared up again in the municipal council.

The starting point was the parking situation.

Mayor Stephan Märkl (CSU) had reported to his colleagues about the new signage on the three main parking spaces: at the Christlhütte hiking car park, on Loisachstraße and at the canoe destination hut.

A general night parking ban was initiated everywhere - from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Märkl and the administration acted at the height of the onslaught without a decision by the committee, “because there was simply great need and we were in the time off from meetings”.

No problem for our colleagues from the various political groups.

They unanimously approved the procedure afterwards.

Nevertheless, the frustration with the issue is still deep for some.

That could be seen in the councils.

Mayor grumbles: Parking tickets over 15 euros cheaper than the campsite

Märkl himself spoke of the fact that the situation had basically improved a little, "but some people just don't care about the signs," complained the city hall boss.

"And if you speak to people, they'll tell you that they'll be happy to pay the 15 euros for the parking ticket because it's still less than at the campsite." There was already a night parking ban in the car parks, but the corresponding sign was missing for larger motorhomes.

The signage has now been updated accordingly.

Hans Steinbrecher (CSU) has had experiences similar to Märkl - he formulated them a little more drastically.

“Nobody cares.

We are still allowed to clear away the needs of the people behind the barn. ”As a solution, he proposed a height restriction for the access to the parking spaces.

"It's not ideal either," he noted, "but otherwise we won't be able to master the situation."

Barriers at the parking lots as a solution against wildlife parking?

Andreas Augscheller (PWG) asked to what extent the parking situation was being monitored.

Märkl referred to the local authority association in Bad Tölz.

“But he only does it until 9 p.m., after that we have to rely on the police.” Steinbrecher also had a not unimportant comment: “The police can't do much there, they patrol from Oberammergau to Griesen during the night. “Ilkkan Karatas (BfG) brought another variant into play:“ Is it possible to lock the parking spaces after a certain time? ”He asked the mayor.

Märkl was not entirely sure of the legal situation.

“I don't know what if we lock up and there is still a car on the premises.” In addition, staff are required to drive to the three critical points in the evening.

Dr.

Joachim Greuel (FDP) liked the idea.

"That's great.

And above all, we only need to set up the barrier, it scares most of them off, we might not have to close it at all. "

Märkl reacted cautiously.

He has already seen an episode on this topic: “We tried on Loisachstrasse.

Nobody was interested there, they even cleared the system away for us. ”The mayor suggested discussing the issue again in the respective committees.

The local politicians could live with that.
