Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi met today (Tuesday) in Berlin with United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Abdullah Ben-Zayed and German Foreign Minister Heiko Mas.
The three toured the Holocaust Museum where they signed the museum's memoir.
During the visit, the German Foreign Minister told the Emirati Foreign Minister that Minister Ashkenazi is a second-generation Holocaust survivor.
Ashkenazi told about his roots and his father who survived the labor camp in Bulgaria in 1944 and about his immigration to Israel.
Minister Ashkenazi said: "Here in Berlin, where the main headquarters of the Nazi beast was located, which decided the fate of six million of my people and sent them to the crematoria and gas chambers. "The foreign government of the German government and the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates. Our presence here together marks the beginning of a new era. An era of peace between peoples.
