Michael Pikowski, a Jew born in Moscow, simply wanted to keep the Sukkah commandment properly.
He did not plan for the sukkah he built to go viral, but that's what happened to his picture of him sitting in the floating sukkah he built himself at a height of about 20 meters above the ground.
“I live 10 miles from the community sukkah.
"I wanted to keep the Sukkah staff properly this year as well," he explains to Israel Today.
Since according to halakhah it is necessary to see the sky above the sukkah, which does not allow the construction of a sukkah on the roofed terrace, Pikowski decided to build his sukkah next to the balcony of the apartment, with nothing below it but air and a long fall down.
The size of the sukkah is minimal - 60 cm in length, 90 cm in width and 120 cm in height.
"I have good hands. I have experience in building wood," he says, "and every year I build a sukkah for other people. I have drawn up plans and calculated everything I need, and yet I do not recommend others to build such a sukkah," he smiles.
