Blue and white have re-ignited the battle for the budget;
Likud: "Attempt to get out of the polls"
In blue and white, they aim to transfer a budget for 2021 as soon as possible, which will also ensure that the rotation is transferred.
For now, Netanyahu has pushed back the demand, and the Likud has launched a frontal attack on Ganz's party.
At the same time, the Prime Minister's Office also clashed with Katz, who criticized the imposition of the closure: "We will not give in to pressure in the government or outside it."

The clashes between the Likud and Blue and White over the budget are coming to the fore again tonight (Wednesday).
After Blue and White began briefing journalists today on their demand to move a budget as soon as possible by the end of 2021, the Likud responded with an attack, claiming that it was a "shameful attempt by Blue and White to extricate themselves from their collapse in the polls."
At the same time, the Netanyahu bureau this evening sharply attacked Finance Minister Israel Katz, who instructed journalists on his opposition to extending the closure because of the damage to the economy, saying that "the prime minister did not succumb to pressure from within or outside the government."
The Israeli government has been operating without a fixed budget since 2018. According to the coalition agreement established by the Netanyahu-Ganz government, it was agreed to transfer a biennial budget for 2020-2021, but after the formation of the government Netanyahu withdrew and began demanding a split into two budgets - mainly to maintain what is known as " The "exit point", which would allow him to go to the polls before the rotation was transferred to Gantz in November 2021. The dispute lasted three months, threatened to dissolve the government and lead to elections, and ended without a decision: instead of passing an annual or biennial budget, the Knesset approved in August Continuous budget base, based on a 1/12 formula with special additions.
According to the law extending the budget approval deadline, by December 23 the government must pass the 2020 budget, even though it will only remain one week for that year, and if not - the Knesset will be dispersed.

In blue and white, however, in recent days have begun to voice again the demand to start working on the 2021 budget for next year, and pass it in the coming months.
This, against the background of an assessment that in light of the deteriorating Likud situation in the polls, Netanyahu will prefer not to go to the polls this coming December.
Netanyahu, on the other hand, is in no hurry to order the preparation of a budget by the end of next year, as this means that he will not have a "starting point" until November 2021, which will allow him to evade the transfer of rotation to Gantz.
According to the agreement between the Likud and Blue and White, only if the government falls apart on the issue of the budget - the Knesset will disperse to the elections without the prime minister passing into Gantz's hands.

Like a boomerang: the restriction of demonstrations has been overturned on Netanyahu - in the streets and also in the government

For now, Netanyahu has rejected the blue-and-white demand, or so it appears from the Likud's response published tonight.
"Prime Minister Netanyahu has a long and proven track record in economic decisions that have brought Israel to record highs," the Likud response said.
"The prime minister has brought in more successful state budgets than any other world leader. He is unmoved by the shameful attempt by blue and whites to extricate themselves from their collapse in the polls."
The Likud response said that "three polls in the last 24 hours show that the Likud is maintaining its power. Meanwhile, blue and white are crashing in all polls."
Blue and white have no debtors left, claiming that Netanyahu is acting out of "panic," as they put it.
"Netanyahu's direct attack on blue and white over the unequivocal demand to approve the state budget for 2021 expresses a deep and very worrying panic about the ability to withstand the pressure of the polls and the failure of his and his associates' personal example in maintaining public health," the party said. "Approving the budget for 2021. All attempts to sabotage and harm Israeli citizens will lead to a re-examination of a variety of political options that we have so far avoided."
Clash between Netanyahu and Katz
At the same time, Netanyahu is having another clash with Finance Minister Israel Katz, who has announced that he is formulating another non-budgetary grant program for the unemployed and the self-employed.
During today's discussions on the plan in the Ministry of Finance, Katz criticized the decision to impose a general closure that causes great economic damage to the economy, saying that he would not let "millions of people sink into despair and starvation due to wrong decisions by the Ministry of Health to close the economy, without diagnosis and without health justification" "Instead of enforcing in places that are contagious."
The Minister of Strategic Affairs, and the leader of the budget department on behalf of Blue and White, Orit Farkash HaCohen, agreed with Katz's remarks.
"The finance minister is right," she wrote on Twitter.
"Life must be returned to the business market as soon as possible. But Israel (Katz - T.S.) - it is time to submit to the Israeli government a budget plan 20-2021 that we all deserve.
No less critical of the millions of Israeli citizens. "The
Prime Minister's Office said that" Netanyahu is adamant about the necessity of a closure at this time, when everyone sees that he is committed to reality and gives first results.
The prime minister has not succumbed to pressure from within or outside the government from those who are trying to garner votes at the expense of public health.
"The economy will be stronger only when the public is healthier."
