In total, 6,000,940 cases have been identified in Europe (for 237,716 deaths), mainly in Russia (1,248,619 infections, 21,865 deaths), Spain (825,410, 32,486), France (669,235, 32,365) and the United Kingdom. Uni (530.113, 42.445).
Over the last seven days, 543,137 new cases were detected in the region, 26% more than the previous week (431,951).
The number of registered deaths increased by 17% over the same period, from 4,765 to 5,562.
The increase in detected contaminations can be partly explained by the sharp increase in the number of tests carried out in a number of European countries, such as France where more than a million tests are carried out each week.
Despite this increase, a significant proportion of less severe or asymptomatic cases probably remain undetected.
