The government last night (Wednesday) approved in a telephone poll the extension of regulations prohibiting demonstrations more than a kilometer from the place of residence until October 13.

This, only about a quarter of an hour before it expired.

In addition, restrictions on commercial activity and gatherings were extended, including in prayers or religious ceremonies.

The restrictions, which include a protest against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, were due to expire at midnight.

Due to this, it was proposed that the extension of regulations be put into effect immediately, so as not to create a situation where it is possible to demonstrate without distance limit.

Already on Tuesday, the government approved the extension of the declaration of a special state of emergency due to the Corona virus until October 13.

This, after last week the Knesset approved an amendment to the Corona Powers Act, which allows the government to restrict the distance from the place of residence for demonstrations.

Prior to that, the protests were outlawed and there were no restrictions on the protesters, except for wearing masks and maintaining a distance of two meters.

The government also approved last week the extension that the general closure imposed following the spread of the epidemic was extended for another three days - until October 14.

The ministers also approved the imposition of a fine of NIS 500 on a person who enters another person's place of residence, including accommodation in a sukkah during the period of general closure.

However, going out for the purpose of purchasing the four species is considered a vital need and will be possible during the closure until the end of the Sukkot holiday.
