Doctor Mario Molina, Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1995, died this Wednesday, according to the Mario Molina Center, of which he was founder.

According to the statement, his death occurred in Mexico City.

This scientist was one of those who discovered that aerosols are among the major causes of the hole in the ozone layer of Antarctica.

The National Autonomous University of Mexico, Molina's alma mater, also mourned this loss.
