Thalía, Farina and Sofía Reyes come together for the series “Latin Music Queens” on the Facebook Watch platform.

Throughout three chapters, the "chicaneras", as they call themselves, show the process of recording a musical theme that can be seen at the end.

How did the idea come about?

Thalía, who produces the series, tells CNN: “I had this concern and need since 2019 when I had the opportunity to be at an awards ceremony and when I went on stage with two colleagues and felt that energy that left me vibrating, I thought it would be incredible that in the next collaboration we could follow the process of music with powerful women in this industry ”.

"It came from fate, Farina and I had a project, she was with Sofi, the three of us connected and here we are presenting this show," he adds.

Thalia is a singer-songwriter, actress, author, fashion designer, and social media influencer.

She has had 30 singles in the Top 10 charts - 17 of them have come in at # 1 - and she has sold more than 50 million records worldwide (Courtesy Facebook Watch)

Empowerment, camaraderie and feminine union

Britney Spears against Christina Aguilera, Thalía against Paulina Rubio, Salma Hayek against Jennifer Lopez, in the past, it was an "infinite war" of comparisons between women.

"Latin Music Queens" wants to break the mold of turning two women against each other and, instead, seeks union and camaraderie.

“We have always grown and we compare ourselves with other people and it is just the moment to do the opposite.

We each have our own path, we are authentic.

We are each different in our own way and we do not compare ourselves.

And we want this to change the way we see those comparisons out there, ”says Sofía Reyes.

For her part, Thalía affirms that they are other times.

"This moment is different, with so many women's and empowerment movements, today we have to be together in this moment, support each other and grow hand in hand," she adds.

“This show will ratify the union of this new generation of women.

There are many female unions that did not exist before.

This reality show will ratify that union, that camaraderie and empathy of one woman with the other.

Exalting the other, the talent of each one and that is what the 'Latin Music Queens' have ”, concludes Farina.

At just 24 years old, Sofía Reyes has been nominated twice for the Latin American Music Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, Latin GRAMMYs, Premios Juventud among others.

What will the audience see?

“In addition to laughing, they will see our day to day, our friendship and how we have grown.

It has been incredible working with them, giving us ideas.

This is not only a show, it is presenting the audience with music that will stay forever, ”says the rapper from Colombia.

“It is the first show of three Latin divas or queens who represent all women.

We will show all the experiences and I feel very proud to be part of this, and I want to thank you for making me feel the way you make me feel, very special, loved and respected ”, she adds.

For her part, Thalía reiterates: “Whenever we are all, we vibrate, there is a lot of love.

It is seeing the magical process of music, of creating music, so that people see everything that is behind a single song, that music, those silences, repeating until it comes out ”.

Farina claims that her name means "Beacon of Light" in Arabic, while her last name Pao means "wrap" in Chinese.

She is proud of her maternal and paternal ancestry and the vibrant mix of cultures that form the core of her art.

What did each of you learn and how do you define this project called “Latin Music Queens”?

Thalía

“The way I have connected with each one.

With Fari I connect with that mischief, flirtation and madness to the fullest.

With Sofi we connect in a very intimate and spiritual way, of the here and now, of being present and enjoying the moment ”.

Farina

“Chicaneras”, that's what we call ourselves, the “power chicaneras”.

From Sofía I learned that I have to continue being me, she is so unique, so relaxed.

She is so calm and passionate.

She is the hippie of three.

To Thalía, since I met her, the revolutions of my passion for music went up.

Thalía is the woman with the most incredible energy I have ever met.

She aroused much more passion than she already had ”.

Sofía Reyes

“For me, Thalía and Farina the word that defines them is: real.

I feel that the three of us made a very real connection, they are pure love, they are real and authentic, human and they awakened many things in me, I admire them both for being very passionate, for having a very special energy and brightness ”.
