Recipients of disability benefits are expected to receive a one-time grant as an alternative to another beating of the monthly benefit increase in 2020.

The grant, which will amount to thousands of shekels depending on the percentage of disability, will be given in two installments - this month and in December.

According to the law memorandum published today (Wednesday) for public comments, the total cost of grants is NIS 940 million.

According to the law approved in February 2018, the disability pension was to increase to NIS 3,700 in a few strokes.

Some of them have been implemented, and now the monthly allowance is about NIS 3,300.

The grant is intended according to the law memorandum to supplement to the amount of 3,511 for the year 2020, i.e. retroactively for that year.

According to the law memorandum, a person suffering from 100% disability will receive a total grant of NIS 2,280 - that is, an additional NIS 190 per month and children with high disabilities will receive a grant of NIS 5,880.
