Defense Minister Bnei Gantz spoke today (Friday) with Minister of Internal Security Amir Ohana and Acting Police Commissioner Superintendent Moti Cohen, and called for an increase in the presence of police officers in demonstrations against government corruption.
This is in preparation for the protests that are expected to take place tomorrow in various centers around the country.
"We are seeing violence against the protesters and there is a real fear for human life," Ganz said in a conversation.
"The violence directed at the protesters could amount to murder in the current tension."
Ganz demanded that police forces focus on preventing violence in demonstrations, alongside enforcing general closure guidelines.
He stressed that he condemns all violence against police officers and non-compliance with instructions.

At the beginning of his conversation with Ohana and Superintendent Cohen, the Minister of Defense expressed his appreciation to the police officers who are on the ground and taking care of law enforcement.
Ganz emphasized to them that they are doing so out of the challenge we are facing and against the background of the dangerous rifts that are deepening in Israeli society.
