However, he then found that he was being treated differently from other passengers.

That's behind it.

Despite the corona pandemic, many are still planning their vacation.

In the winter months in particular, travelers are driven to the sunny south - including a man who recently booked an Aida trip to the Canary Islands.

In the aftermath, however, he noticed a detail that annoyed him.

Austrian books a trip with Aida - but he has to pay for his corona test himself

The corona pandemic has made booking a vacation a lot more complicated.

Not only the development of travel warnings, but also the measures that the organizers are taking to ensure the safety of travelers are causing increasing confusion.

An Austrian who wants to go to the Canary Islands with Aida in December is no exception: The

regulations for the mandatory corona test

when starting the cruise are different for him than for the other passengers - and that pisses him off on.

In a post on Facebook he pillories Aida: “Now I have to read that all travelers outside of Germany have to pay for the Covid-19 test themselves and get a 50 Euro shopping voucher for it.

Where is equality here? ”He says indignantly.

He describes this procedure as the “cheek of Aida”.

But what is the reason for the different treatment of cruise passengers?

As it turns out, there is a specific reason why

Germans are allowed to take the Corona test for free and travelers outside Germany are not

.

At the request of the online portal Der Westen, an Aida spokeswoman explains: “It is the case that Aida Cruises cooperates with the Helios clinics in Germany.

Aida guests can have a Covid-19 PCR test done there free of charge

. ”And since the Helios clinics are only available in Germany, the deal only works with German customers.

Aida therefore offers passengers from other countries a corona test at their family doctor or in a test center, they say.

According to the spokeswoman, the costs incurred are to be borne by yourself: "Aida thanks you for this with a shopping voucher of 50 euros for the on-board shops."
