Engineer Munther Khair Bey, Director of Lattakia Agriculture, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the firefighting teams are still dealing with several fires, the most severe of which are in Balloran, Umm al-Tayyar, al-Basit, Jandal Castle, Dabash, and Khulwa in al-Haffah, indicating that the intensity of winds and drought are the most dangerous factor that causes the spread of fires in addition to the roughness Terrain in some mountainous locations.
Khair Bey indicated that the firefighting teams put out 14 fires out of 35 they are working to extinguish and control, indicating that the fires that have been controlled in the villages and towns of Gholamisa, Azariah and Sindiana in the Qardaha region, Sharifa, Beit Al Shakouhi, Nabaa, Al Badrosiya, Bastawir, Ruwaisa Al Hajjal and Al Sakhrah in Kasab, Al Baraem, Al Balata and Ain Al Sharqia while renewed The fire in the forests of the village of Tafil in Al-Haffa, after it was previously put out.
