In Puerto Rico, the police reported an incident in which they stabbed Nicole López, a 33-year-old transgender woman.
The events occurred in Río Piedras.
According to the police report, López was sharing in her residence with several people, when an argument arose and they attacked and stabbed her.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was diagnosed with open wounds on different parts of the body and a trauma to the head.
A doctor indicated that his condition was stable.
Agents attached to the assault division of the Can Juan Criminal Investigation Corps are investigating the events.
Other incidents against transgender women have recently been reported in Puerto Rico.
Less than a week ago, a transgender woman was murdered in the municipality of San Germán.
With this case, there are already six transgender women who have murdered in Puerto Rico so far in 2020.
