The head of Tal Kalakh Forest Department, Elias Bitar, confirmed that the forest site fire in a village near Ali in the western countryside of Homs has become under control and the fire suppression operations are nearing an end.
In a statement to SANA's correspondent, Bitar explained that the focus is currently on extinguishing the fires in the lands of the town belonging to the town of Ayyun al-Wadi, to which the fire spread from burning forest sites on the side of Tartous Governorate, pointing out that all firefighting cadres are currently working to surround the fire and prevent its spread.
The firefighting teams were able to extinguish the fires that broke out in the villages of Burj Al-Maksour, Al-Mazena and Habanamra, while they are on constant alert to monitor the sites of the fires to prevent their renewal.
