Armenian Foreign Minister Zograb Mnatsakyanan today considered that the task of strengthening the ceasefire mechanisms is the most important in the agreement reached with Azerbaijan.

"The most important task emanating from the Moscow accords on Nagorny Karabakh is to reinforce the ceasefire and the mechanisms that guarantee a ceasefire and exclude the resumption of these operations," Sputnik news agency quoted Manatsakyanian as saying in an interview with Armenian TV, referring to the importance of what Russia and the presidents are doing. Countries participating in the Minsk Group of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in this context.

Mnatsakyanian noted the need to take measures to solve humanitarian problems after the ceasefire agreement is reached.

Earlier today, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that a ceasefire agreement had been reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan, following closed talks in Moscow that lasted ten hours for the foreign ministers of the three aforementioned countries on the situation in Nagorny Karabakh, and the parties refused to make statements before the start of the talks.

On the other hand, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced today that the Armenian forces "are bombing residential areas before the ceasefire agreement comes into effect ... and Azerbaijan is taking measures to respond in kind."

In turn, Armenian Defense Minister Shushan Stepanian announced that "Azerbaijan has intensified the use of drones and launched attacks on Armenian villages near Nagorny Karabakh after the ceasefire agreement was announced."
