The technical workshops of the General Electricity Company of Homs Governorate today completed maintenance and repair work for all faults caused by the fires that the governorate's countryside witnessed during the past days, so that the electricity supply will return to all the affected villages and homes.

In a statement to SANA, Engineer Saleh Omran, Director of the Homs Electricity Company, stated that the workshops have worked since the first day of the outbreak of the fires to maintain the damage, and the priority was to secure 24-hour electricity for the water wells in “Ayyun al-Wadi, Zwaitina and Nazareth” that supply fire trucks with water.

He also pointed out that the damage included 5 wooden medium tension poles, two of which were in the village of Uyun Al-Wadi, 3 in Hob Nimra, and 15 wooden low tension poles, 7 of them in a village near Ali, 5 in Hob Namira, and 3 in Zweitina. The damage also included about 500 meters of cable subscribers in my area Zweitina and near Ali, in addition to a 300-meter torside cable in the village of Nazareth.

In turn, Eng. Hassan Humaidan, Director of the Public Corporation for Drinking Water and Sewerage in Homs, confirmed that no direct damages occurred to the water network in the villages that were affected by the fires, indicating that the pumping stations in the affected villages are working well and the fires have not reached them, as the Foundation's workshops clean the weeds and weeds periodically. He also explained that the water supply was secured over the 24 hours for the villages, even in times of power cuts, so that the water fountains were kept available for fire trucks to supply them with the mobilization of the Foundation's workshops and their workers in anticipation of any emergency failure.

Eng. Kanaan Juda, Director of the Syrian Telecommunications Company branch in Homs, pointed out that there were no telephone faults in the areas that were exposed to fires.

Several villages in the western countryside of Homs witnessed a number of fires during the past days, which resulted in damage to forest forests and fruit trees.

The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Muhammad Hassan Qatna, announced earlier today that all fires that broke out at dawn on Friday would be put out in the governorates of Latakia, Tartous and Homs.
