The meeting of the Prime Minister, Engineer Hussein Arnous, with the Board of Directors of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside today focuses on securing the local market’s need for consumer basket products and achieving a real partnership between public authorities and private sector actors in various fields of manufacturing and production in a way that serves the national economy and industry and contributes to implementing the import substitution program and strengthening Local production and achieve the interest of the citizen and industry.
The meeting touched on the importance of work integration to secure the requirements for re-launching the damaged establishments in cities and industrial and craft areas, providing the necessary facilities and overcoming difficulties in front of a new start in work and production, and the necessity of developing an export map in coordination with the concerned ministries in parallel with securing the local market requirements of various products.
Eng. Arnous emphasized that the government continues to support the local industry and help it to overcome the existing difficulties, in addition to supporting projects of economic feasibility that would push the production process, calling on industrialists and various economic actors to work with government agencies and popular and community events as a single team to achieve the public interest, pointing out that The government is working to create a fairer tax system for all taxpayers.
The Chairman and members of the Board of Directors of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside expressed their willingness to provide support to their brothers in the countryside of Lattakia, Tartous and Homs, in a way that enhances solidarity and solidarity among all the people of the country, while Eng. Arnous stressed the importance of the economic activities' contribution in partnership with government agencies in providing material support to the families affected by the fires.
The industrialists ’proposals dealt with the necessity of resettling small and micro industries, supplying industrial establishments with diesel, and the participation of chambers of industry with decisions related to the private industrial sector and increasing electrical supply hours for industrial zones in Damascus and its countryside.
The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Oil, Mineral Resources and Industry, and the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
