An argument in line for the dining room, the failure of the commanders of the commanders on the spot and 21 lightly wounded soldiers, are the findings of an investigation into the mass brawl in Givati's novice camp published today (Monday).

The investigation revealed that it all started with an argument as the entrance to lunch in the dining room, which developed into a brawl with the participation of about 30 soldiers from the training companies of the Bedouin patrol unit and the Shaked Battalion.

About ten minutes from the start of the incident, the brawl was stopped with the arrival of the cycle commander to the scene.

Against this background, the brigade commander found that there had been a command failure of the entire chain of command present at the incident from both companies and a failure to realize the capabilities to prevent the incident in its early stages.

The unusual incident of violence led to the minor injuries of 21 fighters.

Eight of them were evacuated for medical treatment at Soroka Hospital and were released after an examination without significant injuries.

At the same time, another brawl took place in the brigade training base clinic between two soldiers who needed treatment.

This was quickly separated by the commanders.

Following the brawl, the brigade commander ordered a training curfew until the coming weekend for both companies and the transfer of education classes on values and acceptance of the other, at the end of which there will be a joint evening for novices led by the commander of the training base.

All soldiers who resorted to violence, and commanders who did not fulfill their responsibility to prevent the incident, will be treated severely, including the commanders of the platoon and platoon.

Also, the company commanders will be reprimanded for their responsibility for the incident.

Beyond that, the lessons of the case will be disseminated and learned throughout the IDF upon completion of the investigations.

The investigation was conducted under the leadership of the commander of the Givati Brigade, Colonel Itzik Cohen.

The findings were initially presented to the commander of the steel formation, Brigadier General Saar Tzur, and to the commander of the Southern Command, Major General Herzli Halevi.

The IDF stated that "this is an exceptional and serious incident that is inconsistent with the IDF's values and the behavior required of its soldiers.

"The IDF condemns this type of misconduct and will continue to take the initiative to eradicate similar incidents."
