This judicial information led by an investigating judge was opened "

following the first elements of the investigation

" of the maritime gendarmerie, told AFP the prosecutor of the Republic of Ajaccio, Carine Greff.

"

We wonder about omissions to bring aid or even intentional homicide because requests for shelter in different ports could have been refused,

" added the prosecutor.

Two men, 67 and 75, have died

At the time of the events, the survivor of this shipwreck had affirmed in

Corse-Matin

that one of the two ports of Ajaccio had twice refused to the Be Bop sailboat access to the port while the area was about to be classified by Météo-France on orange alert for strong winds.

The hearing of this survivor had given rise to the opening of an investigation for non-assistance to people in danger by the Ajaccio prosecutor's office after a first procedure to search for the causes of death opened upon the discovery of the first body.

The Be Bop, an 11-meter sailboat which had anchored at Isolella, on the south shore of the Gulf of Ajaccio, broke its anchorage during the night of September 25 to 26 and struck shoals near the coast, before breaking up and sinking.

Two men aged 67 and 75 were killed in this shipwreck while the third passenger, wife of one of the two men, managed to swim back to the coast.

In the aftermath of the events, the port directors Tino Rossi and Charles Ornano d'Ajaccio had assured the Corsican daily that they had not refused any vessel in their port.
