Within the activities of the month of awareness for early detection of breast cancer (pink month), the Women of the Nation Foundation, in cooperation with the Future Youth Association, organized an awareness-raising event targeting women and girls with auditory and visual disabilities, with the aim of introducing them to breast cancer, methods of prevention, risk factors causing it, and the importance of early detection to ensure recovery in case of injury .

Rawaa Al-Tajjar, director of the corporation's health awareness project, indicated the importance of breast self-examination to discover the presence of any lump and then conducting investigations to diagnose the condition through an echo or mammogram according to the age of each woman.

She pointed out the necessity of a mammogram of the breast after the age of 45 once every year, even in the absence of any symptoms, noting the importance of all parties participating in awareness efforts, as breast cancer is the most common cancer among women and early detection has a role in shortening the treatment period and raising the rate of recovery.

For her part, lawyer Thanaa Al Sheikh, volunteer at the Future Youth Association, referred to the role of institutions and NGOs in the awareness aspect to ensure the safety and health of society, pointing out the need to focus more on persons with disabilities.

Dr. Hala Shaheen saw that such events have a great role in providing accurate health information by specialists, stressing the role of the private sector as a key partner in relief, development and cultural work, while a member of the Board of Directors of the Umma Women’s Foundation, Amani Diab, pointed to the importance of the pink month as a healthy cultural month that contributes to Supporting women with breast cancer and educating others about the importance of early detection.

Through sign language, the sign interpreter, Anahideh Tanta, conveyed the health information that was effectively provided to the participants with hearing disabilities, expressing her happiness to have a footprint by spreading health awareness for this group and providing information that would benefit them with their families.

On the other hand, a number of people with disabilities who participated in the event stressed the importance of the information presented in addition to providing an opportunity for dialogue in the health field, as Asma Al-Nasser, Wafa Al-Aas and Rasha Khazim pointed out that the event contributed to the acquisition of health information that contributes to spreading awareness of early detection of breast cancer.

It is noteworthy that the month of October, the International Month of Breast Cancer Awareness (pink month), helps to increase interest in this disease and to provide the necessary support to raise awareness of its seriousness and early detection and treatment.
