Eleven industrial establishments entered the labor market in Daraa during the third quarter of this year, at a cost of 847 million pounds, providing 34 job opportunities.

Eng. Imad Al-Rifai, Director of Industry, in a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin, stated that the value of the machines of the industrial establishments newly entered into service amounted to 465 million Syrian pounds, indicating that the new facilities were distributed among the various engineering, food, textile and chemical sectors, including a qualitative facility in the town of Jabb in the northern countryside of Daraa for the manufacture of Majbul Asphalt required for road projects in the public and private sectors.

Al-Rifai said: The number of craft establishments implemented during the third quarter reached 24 establishments with a capital of 491 million pounds and a value of 171 million pounds that provided 68 job opportunities, indicating that the directorate licensed in the third quarter of this year 18 industrial projects at a cost of 1.8 billion pounds and the value of machines 197.1 billion pounds and will secure 98 A job opportunity if it enters the labor market, while the number of licensed craft projects in the same period reached 22 projects with a capital of 377 million pounds and a value of 130 million machines that will secure 65 job opportunities upon implementation.

Al-Rifai pointed to the efforts made by the Directorate in the field of securing the fuels necessary for the work of industrial and craft establishments, through approvals granted to assets from the Fuel Sub-Committee.

A number of industrialists and craftsmen called for facilitating procedures for obtaining administrative licenses, reducing taxes and fees on the work of establishments, providing installations with the electrical energy necessary for their work at subsidized prices, and working to reduce the prices of raw materials in a way that reduces the costs of manufacturing the local product and its prices in the market.

In the third quarter of last year, the Directorate implemented 29 industrial and craft establishments with a value of 1.587 billion pounds and provided 119 job opportunities. It also licensed 72 industrial and craft establishments with a value of 3.94 billion pounds that provided 262 job opportunities.
