Thanks to the successful winter of 2020, you can still see the strong flow in the northern streams.

Today we will reach one of them - at a unique northern point: the great and impressive waterfall of the Jordan.

Especially for you, the surfers who are buried in the houses, we set out to document the beautiful nature reserves of Israel.

No humans, no barbecues and bonfires, noise or dirt.

In a special series of articles, we joined fellow traveler in a booklet that has been touring the country for six months, since the outbreak of the Corona, when he lost his main occupation in the world of copywriting and advertising.

As part of his travels around the country, the publisher began revealing hidden corners and springs on his Instagram account, which has more than 70,000 followers.

The booklet will take us to the most intriguing places in the country, which look completely like abroad but really do not have to fly to get to them.

Together we will see all the pearls of Israeli nature, learn how to preserve them, and prepare for the moment when we can all return to nature and walk responsibly - while preserving ourselves and the treasures of Israeli nature.

On the route we will pass today, we will walk through the "Ami Promenade" directly towards the large and impressive waterfall in historic Jordan.

Location:

Jordan River - Northeast Hula Valley.

On the map:

A neat path between Sde Nehemia and Kfar Blum, from the sources of the Jordan to the dam above the waterfall of the historic Jordan.

Starting point on the promenade:

Look in Wise - "Ami Trail".

The waterfall can be reached directly from the "Historic Jordan" point in Wise.

Route description

"Ami Trail" - a beautiful promenade near the Jordan.

All around is green and blooming, with many lawns.

The promenade is located on the east bank, mostly south of the Yosef Bridge.

This is one of the most beautiful roads you can walk along the Jordan.

The place is very visually invested and well-kept, but it does not have much signage, and sometimes you have to consult locals to get to a certain point.

• There is organized parking on both sides of Gesher Yosef (the green bridge that crosses the Jordan).

• It should be taken into account that the Jordan is a deep river full of water, with strong alluvium.

There are not many points where you can get into its waters - and you have to be very careful when doing so.

• What is in the area?

Possibility for a leisurely walk on a flat and comfortable path along the Jordan River.

On the way there are two waterfalls: one is small and moderate (kayaks can pass through it), and the other is buzzing with a huge stream of water.

• The walk on the promenade takes about 30 minutes in each direction - a linear route.

On the tour we will also look at the differences between the "Jordan River" and the "historic Jordan River" and see where they meet.

Important:

Even when the closure ends and it will be possible to go for a walk - follow the flashes of the Nature and Parks Authority website about the water quality before entering the streams.

There may be water quality hazards, and there is a risk of mice in some areas in the northern streams.

A colleague in the pamphlet travels mainly in places where the walk to the water is not great.

It reveals short walks that allow immersion in clean water in nature.

For another 92 hidden natural corners and springs in the country and how to get to these special sites - follow a colleague in an Instagram pamphlet - amitbacho.
