When a young girl from Guangzhou visited Hong Kong three years ago, she was knocked down by a double-decker city bus on a busy road in Mong Kok.
The girl's right foot was run over and needs to be amputated.
The girl filed with the High Court on the day before yesterday (12th), claiming compensation from the driver and the city bus involved, but the amount of the claim was not disclosed in the petition.
The plaintiff is Huang Xiaoyi and the defendants are the driver Liao Ganhong and Citybus Limited.
The plaintiff filed a complaint that Huang was injured because of his negligence in driving a city bus at the junction of Nathan Road and Argyle Street in Mong Kok on November 1, 2017.
Huang claimed compensation from Liao and Citybus.
Liao Ganhong pleaded guilty to one count of causing serious bodily injury to others by dangerous driving last year and was sentenced to 11 months in prison and suspended for 2 years.
