Today, the World Bank approved a $ 12 billion financial aid plan to ensure developing countries have access to coronavirus vaccines as soon as they become available.
The French Press Agency quoted the bank as saying that the aid money "will be used to finance the purchase and distribution of vaccines, tests and treatments for Corona in developing countries," noting that these funds are supposed to be sufficient to vaccinate up to one billion people.
The bank pointed out that it will provide technical support to help countries prepare to distribute vaccines on a large scale in coordination with international partners, and will instruct the research and pharmaceutical industries about the need for developing countries to obtain effective and safe vaccines against Corona.
Last April, the World Bank monitored an aid package amounting to 160 billion dollars until June 2021 to help developing countries combat the Corona pandemic.
