Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif condemned the policy of imposing illegal restrictions on the American side regarding Iran's use of its financial assets in Japan, describing the denial of Iranian people from buying medicine and food as a crime against humanity.
This came during a telephone conversation that Zarif held today with his Japanese counterpart, his death, on the latest international and regional developments and bilateral relations between Tehran and Tokyo.
Zarif expected the Japanese government to be keen, within the framework of adhering to general international obligations on the implementation of Security Council resolutions, including Resolution 2231, to prevent this illegal action by the United States.
Zarif also reiterated that the presence of foreign forces in the region would lead to more complications and increase the problems there.
Referring to the nuclear agreement, Zarif stressed the need to devote efforts to the implementation of all other parties' obligations under this agreement.
With regard to combating the new Corona virus, Zarif expressed his hope to expand bilateral cooperation between Tehran and Tokyo, noting at the same time Japan's cooperation with the Islamic Republic in this field.
For his part, the Japanese Foreign Minister affirmed that Japan's stances to consolidate stability within the Middle East region have not changed, pointing to his country's position in support of the nuclear agreement and noting the strengthening of cooperation between Tehran and Tokyo to combat the Corona virus.
