Covid-19 does not give the NFL a truce.

This time, those affected are the Atlanta Falcons: they had to temporarily close their training center.

The closure occurred after a member of the campus tested positive for coronavirus.

Under the guise of "abundant caution," the Atlanta Falcons will conduct their operations virtually for at least one day.

This was announced by the team on its Twitter account.

Out of an abundance of caution following one new positive test, we have made the decision to stop all in-person work at IBM Performance Field Thursday and will conduct all operations virtually.

"This decision was made after consulting with the NFL and medical authorities," the team added on its official website.

And he further noted that the "health and safety of our team is our highest priority."

The franchise makes this announcement just three days before Sunday's game against the Vikings in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The move to go to work virtually comes after Tuesday's announcement confirming that offensive tackle Marlon Davidson has been placed on the reserve / covid-19 list.

Which means the team will abide by the NFL's intensive supplemental protocols.

Those procedures, as reported by NFL Medical Director Dr. Allen Sills, include PCR testing for everyone, point-of-care testing for certain players, virtual work, protective face masks on the court at all times, and more precautions.

Davidson is the second Atlanta player to test positive since the season began.

His partner AJ Terrell was put on the reserve / covid-19 list at the end of September.

All of this comes in a troubled week for the Atlanta Falcons, who fired their head coach, Dan Quinn, and general manager Thomas Dimitroff on Monday.

Atlanta lost all five games it played this season.
