  • 23 new corona infections were reported to the health department of the Weilheim-Schongau district within 24 hours.

As a result, the seven-day incidence will most likely rise above the critical value of 35.

  • The district office is therefore preparing a general order with significantly stricter corona rules, which is expected to come into force on Saturday.

  • Among other things, there will be a curfew, restrictions on celebrations and a mask requirement in lessons from the fifth grade and in highly frequented public places.

District

- The trend has already emerged in the past few days, but very few had expected such a jump in the number of infections: 23 new cases of Corona were reported to the district health department between Wednesday at 12 p.m. and Thursday at 12 p.m.

The people affected live in Altenstadt, Schongau, Steingaden, Iffeldorf, Wielenbach, Bernbeuren, Penzberg, Peiting, Schwabbruck and Weilheim.

This means that the focus is no longer on localized foci of infection, but rather large parts of the district are affected.

The decisive 7-day incidence value, which indicates how many illnesses have occurred per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days, is likely to have exceeded 35 with a probability bordering on certainty.

"However, we are not allowed to determine that ourselves, but have to wait until the RKI officially informs us," said district press spokesman Hans Rehbehn on Thursday evening.

He expects the official incidence number to be available on Friday morning.

In the meantime, a general decree is already being prepared in the district office, which should summarize the stricter corona rules and would come into force on Saturday if the threshold of 35 cases is exceeded.

Curfew from 11 p.m., a maximum of ten participants for private parties

This has far-reaching consequences for public life in the district.

Yesterday, the cabinet of the Bavarian state government decided to tighten the corona rules noticeably.

If the incidence value rises above 35, there is a curfew of 11 p.m. in restaurants.

In addition, there is a nighttime ban on selling alcohol and consuming it in public places.

If you think now, we'll just celebrate at home - private parties and contacts are generally limited to ten participants or members of two households.

According to the new regulation, more guests are no longer allowed at celebrations in restaurants and hotels.

Exceeding the incidence value of 35 also means drastic restrictions for the students.

As the state government announced, in municipalities that exceed this value, a mask requirement also applies in lessons for pupils from the fifth grade.

Mask requirement in busy places and in public offices

A mask requirement also applies to heavily frequented places as well as in public offices and at cultural events from a value of 35.

However, it is still unclear which places in the district are classified as "heavily frequented" by the district office.

The exact list should be presented this Friday.

At cultural events, the mouth and nose protection may no longer be removed on the square.

The general decree, which would come into force on Saturday, should initially apply for seven days.

If the incidence value falls below 35 during this period, the measures are lifted; if it rises above 50, they are tightened further.

Since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, 545 people have been reported with a positive test for Covid-19 in the Weilheim-Schongau district.

Of these, 483 cases recovered and three people died.

59 people who tested positive are currently in quarantine.
