Autumn brought the expected second corona wave and numerous countries have exceeded the limit value for new infections.

Where else can you travel now?

The corona pandemic has worsened again in many countries in recent weeks.

While a nationwide travel warning now applies to Spain, Belgium and the Czech Republic, in other countries it only affects certain regions.

Many Corona hotspots * are also currently emerging in Germany.

Where else can you safely travel to in autumn?

Autumn vacation in the south: No risk areas in Italy

Italy

was hit hardest by the coronavirus at the start of the pandemic in Europe.

Strict measures and quick reactions to the number of cases that are now increasing again mean that the country is currently in a comparatively good position - there is currently no travel warning for any part of the country.

Anyone who is on holiday in Italy must, however, expect certain restrictions: for example, there has recently been a

nationwide mask requirement in the open air

.

Disposable gloves are also required in many places.

Before entering museums or shops, temperatures are often measured and distance rules of one to two meters apply.

Sonderweg Sweden: Currently everything is OK for a vacation

Sweden caused a sensation with its special route in the corona pandemic.

Instead of closing schools and daycare centers, everything stayed the same - only a ban on gathering 50 or more people caused a major break in everyday life.

These (non) measures have meanwhile resulted in very high case numbers, but the situation has since stabilized again and

Sweden is currently not one of the corona risk areas

.

There are no curfews or travel restrictions, and there is no mask requirement.

However, you are asked to observe the distance and hygiene rules.

Greece vacation despite Corona: no travel warning for regions

In Greece, the

number of cases during the Corona crisis has always remained moderate

and is still at a comparatively low level.

This is why there are currently no travel warnings from the Federal Foreign Office or the Robert Koch Institute.

For holidays in Greece, you must fill out an online form from which a

QR code is

generated

at least 24 hours before departure

.

This must be presented upon entry.

On site, a mask is required in all public, closed rooms such as in the supermarket or on public transport.

Restaurants, bars, cafés and discos are open in compliance with hygiene and distance rules, but in many places the opening times are limited to midnight.

Vacation in Europe despite Corona: Poland without risk areas

Even

in Poland there are no travel warning

on the part of the government, although the Foreign Office by an increase in Corona infections talks.

Entry from neighboring EU member states is possible without restrictions and no negative corona test has to be presented.

Since October 10, there are yellow and red zones across the country, each with different conditions.

In both zones, however, you must wear a mask, even outdoors.

Corona risk areas: Partial travel warnings for these countries

Many countries are not considered risk areas in their entirety, only certain regions are increasingly affected by the pandemic.

For example, you can

go on holiday

in

Portugal

if you avoid the

greater Lisbon area

or in

Switzerland

as long as you stay away from the cantons of Geneva and Vaud.

Travel warnings sometimes

apply to the following countries

- so keep yourself up to date on developments in the regions:

  • Bulgaria

  • Denmark

  • Estonia

  • France

  • Ireland

  • Croatia

  • Lithuania

  • Netherlands

  • Austria

  • Portugal

  • Switzerland

  • Slovakia
