On Saturday the most famous Austrian cabaret artist is coming to Wolfratshausen again.

Jokes about Corona are to be expected.

Wolfratshausen

- Josef Hader, probably the most famous Austrian cabaret artist, comes to the Loisachhalle on Saturday.

The Isar-Loisach Cultural Association (KIL) has invited him - and he is happy to come.

You can see the program "Hader plays Hader", a mix of different numbers from his earlier programs such as "Privat".

The event is sold out.

According to the citizen's office, the maximum number of tickets that can still be bought back at the box office.

Volker Ufertinger spoke to Josef Hader.

Mr. Hader, on Saturday you can be seen on the Loisachhalle stage.

Are you happy to be able to perform at all?

Some of your appearances, for example in Berlin, had to be canceled.

Hader:

I'm happy about it, and you can feel it with the people.

You don't even notice on stage that there are fewer people because everyone goes along and is happy that something can happen again.

"Hader plays Hader" is a long runner.

You have been touring with it since 2012. What makes this program so appealing?

Hader:

It's just a jazz program, the numbers keep changing.

At the moment there are also new things in there because I am now also trying out excerpts from my new cabaret program that is coming out next year.

At the moment there seems to be only one topic: Corona.

Will the term fall on the stage on Saturday?

Hader:

There are a few harbingers of the new program on the Internet, such as “Structure”.

In this respect ... let yourself be surprised.

The virus has changed the mood a lot.

What challenge does this pose for a cabaret artist like you?

What reactions do you have to expect when you joke about it?

Hader:

I've always had the experience that people love to laugh at unpleasant things, including something that scares them.

Laughter can become liberation.

As well as being a cabaret artist, you're also a screenwriter, actor and director.

What do you like doing the most?

Hader:

The variety is the main prize!

If you have been doing your job for a long time, different fields of activity, which alternate, are a real blessing.

You have performed several times in the district, in the Loisachhalle, in an ambush.

Do you have the impression that your humor is particularly well understood here?

Hader:

In Bavaria the audience is often better than at home.

You're kind of rewarded for coming here extra.

In Vienna you're always there anyway, so it's often much quieter in the audience.

On your homepage you write that in 1980 you made your first attempts at cabaret in Melk Abbey, critical numbers about teachers in front of students.

"Huge success.

Understand the essence of cabaret. ”What is the essence of cabaret?

It was more of an ironic cabaret criticism, namely that in cabaret you often joke about those who are not there and enemy images anyway.

But I always try to make jokes that should affect the audience.

Most of all, I'm kidding about myself.

This is very important to me, this irony towards yourself.

That helps a lot against taking yourself too seriously.
