Russian security forces eliminated members of a terrorist cell in Volgograd who were planning to carry out an attack on a monument in Russia.
The Public Relations Center of the Russian Federal Security Service said in a statement today that “the cell belonging to the (Unification and Jihad Brigades) terrorist organization banned in Russia was eliminated after its members displayed resistance during the arrest attempt,” indicating that they were found in their possession a map of Volgograd and on it. Black signs indicate the sites to be detonated, including the famous "Motherland" monument.
The Russian Federal Security Service published a video recording of the operation that took place at night in a forest near the city, where the militants were hiding in their hideout, and the recording shows the bodies of the murdered terrorists, in addition to explosives, bombs, and a map of the course and locations of the planned terrorist operations.
