Today, the Belgian government issued a decision to close all cafes and restaurants for a period of four weeks to combat the Corona virus.
AFP quoted Belgian Deputy Prime Minister George Gilkinet as saying after a meeting of the Belgian government's Crisis Unit that the closure period is 4 weeks as the government seeks to counter the sharp rise in cases of the virus that causes Covid 19 disease.
The Brussels city area imposed similar restrictions last week, but today's announcement extends them nationwide.
The death toll from the virus has increased recently in the country, prompting the authorities to tighten lockdown rules.
