Christopher Cross says covid-19 temporarily paralyzed him

Spanish actor Antonio Banderas revealed that he tested positive for coronavirus on August 10.

Posting on his 60th birthday, Banderas said he is celebrating the occasion while in quarantine and feeling "relatively well, just a little more tired than normal."

Banderas said his recovery time will be used to "read, write, rest" and continue to make plans to commemorate his birthday.

Singer Christopher Cross is opening up about how the coronavirus nearly cost him his life.

In an interview scheduled to air this weekend on "CBS Sunday Morning," the 69-year-old said he had some "epiphany moments" after he and his girlfriend contracted the disease.

According to Cross, both tested positive after returning from a trip to Mexico City.

While the couple were ill for about three weeks, she said she felt good enough to go shopping in April, but when she returned home, her legs gave out.

Christopher Cross said doctors diagnosed him with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disorder in which the immune system attacks the nerves, which they believed was caused by having Covid-19.

"It was the worst 10 days of my life," Cross said.

And I couldn't walk, I could barely move.

So it was certainly the darkest moment for me, you know?

It was really hitting rock bottom and a very difficult one.

The Grammy winner known for hits like "Sailing" and "Ride Like The Wind," said "I'm not a big celebrity, but it's important for people to know that you can get this disease."

"And then, I felt it was a kind of obligation to share with people: 'Look, this is a big problem.

You have to wear your mask, "said the singer.

"You have to take care of each other, because, you know, this could happen to you."

Christopher Cross said that he continues to struggle to recover and that both his speech and memory have been affected and he has gone from having to use a wheelchair to walking with a cane.
